Ahead of the Golden Globes, the Prof announced his group's runner of the year so CONGRATULATIONS to Heather Law for winning this prestigious award; it comes with no monetary reward, not even a medal or certificate, just the applause of Team Profiterole. Having smashed the 250 Parkrun barrier, Heather is now concentrating on training for her first Ultra!
So, to training this week:
Tuesday January 8th:
MEET AT ASHCOMBE SCHOOL FOR 7PM DEPARTURES UNLESS OTHERWISE ADVISED - PLEASE WEAR A HI VIZ TOP AND CARRY A HEAD TORCH IF GOING OFF-ROAD
Brian's & Caroline's walking group
Gayle will be leading the Snayle Wowers on a roughly 4-mile run/walk
Elizabeth's group: Will be led by Alan, for a quick run around the town. (And many thanks from E and A for our Christmas gifts)
Janet's group: Janet or one of her erstwhile stand-ins will lead the run this week
Gail's group: Emma is injured so the Wizlons are taking a break. You might like to try out Kevin’s new reps group see below) or run with Janet or The Prof.
Dave's group: A torch run as usual for the Profiteroles
Kevin's New Group: Kevin is starting a reps training group for those runners a bit intimidated by Glenn's group - sort of below Prof's group and more pitched at Gail’s and Janet’s groups. We will commence at Ashcombe School at 7pm and will be at sites within the town. There will be no cross-country involved however please ensure hi viz vests are worn.
Glenn's group: Reps and intervals around Denbies. All are welcome to come along
Thursday January 10th
MEET AT PIXHAM LANE CLUBHOUSE FOR 7PM DEPARTURES - PLEASE WEAR A HI VIZ TOP AND CARRY A HEAD TORCH
Brian's group: Meet at Pixham at 7:00 for warm up jog to Rose Hill ready for the session
Dave's group: As usual The Prof will lead a group around the town for reps training no doubt including some favourite hills
Nick's group: We will meet at Pixham Sports Ground at 7pm and run to Rose Hill for some drills & short recovery repetition work. All abilities welcome
