Already, this is the final Surrey League XC Match of the Season; and wow, to date, it has been a roller -coaster of valiant endeavour, but disappointing final results. Truely, without wishing to break into any semblance of musical tone or raucous note, “the only way is up!” HOWEVER, let’s give this final League race a “good thrash”, especially as we normally run well at Lloyd Park, to provide us with some well-deserved confidence for next season....and beyond!
The Scores on the Doors are as follows (is there a 21st Century equivalent?):
When? Saturday 10 Feb- Start: 3pm, so please be there for 2.15pm for a warm up and to collect numbers!
Meet at the DMV Banner, close to the Start
How far? Five miles in total, made up of 2 laps
- we all know Lloyd Park well, so suspect a longer spike will be required, especially as the Division 3 and 4 race is being held before ours, starting at 2pm!
- the race prior will also place pressure on parking spaces, so please leave plenty of time!
- There is a café on-site for Fraser’s pre-race coffee!
All details for Saturday are here - https://surreyleague.org/slm/match/82/
Parking advice per organisers:
Travel / Parking: You are advised to arrive by tram as the easiest way of getting to the start. Alight at Lloyd Park Tram stop, which is adjacent to the start. Lloyd Park is on line 3 running from Wimbledon to New Addington via East and West Croydon stations for easy access.
If you come by car, we attach some information about the parking options available. Please pass this on to anyone you know is coming to the race and encourage car sharing.
Please advise your availability ASAP, and also if anyone is able to offer or needs a lift from Dorking Main Station. I would suggest a 1230hrs meet up.
Let’s get the Burgundy Vests en masse on the start line!
