South of The Thames XC - 24 Nov - 2pm - Senior Ladies & Gents

We have all now sharpened our spikes for the first two Surrey League XC Matches, and next we have the historic South of Thames Team Championship!

Let Bruce explain the details:

The South of Thames Cross Country Association is an institution within our sport. They have been hosting cross country races since 1888. They continue to organise two events per year and nowadays the races are more informal and aimed at average club runners. They are great fun and allow men and women to run alongside each other. A brief history of the organisation can be found on their website:

This year, the short course event will be held at Morden Park on 24 November. This is a five mile race and teams comprise of four runners. It is a 2pm start from near the band stand in Morden Park, which is just off the A24, postcode SM4 5QU.

The club pay for entry to this event, so please let me know if you want to take part by Tuesday 14th November and I will submit the entries.

The championship race will take place on 15 December at Beckenham Place Park. This is 7.5 miles (12K) and there are six runners per team, again this will start at 2pm. We have a bit longer to get the entries in for this one, but please let me know by 3rd December if you want to run.

Please contact Bruce by email or send me a text 07449453773

For the ladies, please contact Lou at

Thanks and I hope to see you at one or both of these races.
