Rachel's Athletics Group

Dear all,

Just a brief outline of training over the coming weeks.

Tomorrow - Monday 10th September will be our first full training session back after the summer.

For some of the older athletes this will be an opportunity to try out in one of the other groups; Rob (middle distance/endurance) and Fran ( sprints).

For the remaining athletes it will be the first session after the summer break. Over the coming weeks we will build up strength and endurance for those who wish to compete in the cross country and generally maintain all round fitness to build a solid base for the track and field season.

This week and next week I plan to train at Pixham Lane from 18.30 until 19.45. Most the training will be running based, but there will also be an element of strength and conditioning.

The following week ; Monday 24th September there be no training as I am unavailable.

The plan for the winter is to train at the Priory School with the use of portable flood lights, however, we are still in negotiation, so I do not have a start date for this.

From Monday 1st October athletes need to be prepared to run out from PIxham Lane to train. It is a requirement of the club that all athletes and coaches wear a hi viz vest when training outside PIxham Lane. On a more general note a reminder that all athletes should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for training. It can get chilly towards the end of the session, so please bring a hoody or something similar. All athletes should bring a water bottle. Can I ask that all water bottles and hoodies are named, as I am running out of storage space for those I pick up on a weekly basis and are not reclaimed !!!

If you have any particular questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Rachel
