I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and is raring to go for 2018. It was wonderful to see so many people running up at Polesden Lacey on New Year’s Eve - thanks to Dave for getting things organised.
A few things to update you all on.
Edinburgh Marathon - Club place
Congratulations to Gayle Banks for being the lucky name pulled out in draw for the free club entry to the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Hope all the training goes well Gayle!
Surrey XC Champs - Sunday 7 January
Good luck to everyone who’s competing in the County Champs at Denbies next Sunday. If you’re not running, please come along to cheer on the hardy souls who are braving the hills. It all starts at 10.50am with the U13 girls and the last race is the Senior Men at 1.45pm - the full schedule can be found here: https://www.surreyathletics.org.uk/crosscountry/champs/2017/20180107.php
Also, if anyone can spare a couple of hours to help marshall during the day, that would be much appreciated. If you are able to do this, please drop Peter Crawshaw a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.

MABAC - Sunday 14 January
The first MABAC of the year will take place in Windsor Park on 14 January - further details to follow but don’t forget to put the MABAC website (http://www.mabac.org.uk/) in your favourites!
Finally, a big congratulations to John Barron who completed his 100th parkrun on New Year’s Day - rather than wait until it was a pleasantly sunny day on a bone dry course, John clearly decided he’d celebrate the milestone in a course that was something of a mudbath, especially once the rain started!
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year with all sorts of running success,
