A slightly belated Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that everyone had a great break and managed to get some running in to work off the mince pies and Christmas pudding.
Firstly, a big well done to everyone who competed at the County Champs over at Lloyd Park on Saturday, and an extra big thanks to everyone who braved the cold to support the runners.
January is always a busy month for racing and this weekend is a particularly important one.
All our cross country teams are in action on Saturday and there’s the double points MABAC at Windsor on Sunday – whilst we’re the reigning MABAC champs, we know that the other teams are already drumming up from support within their clubs to knock us off our perch. Let’s get the season off to a good start in the defence of our crown!
So, if you’re around, please try and make it to or other (or both) of these. Not only does the team benefit from the having a strong turnout, but they’re great fun to take part in.
I also wanted to make you aware of the date of this year’s AGM – it’ll be held in the clubhouse at Pixham Lane on Thursday 21 March. As well as nominations for the roles of Chair and Club Secretary to take over from me and Stuart, we’d really like to hear from you if you’d like to help by being on the Committee and ensure that we can keep DMVAC flourishing as a successful club that enables everyone to get the maximum enjoyment from athletics and running, whatever their age or ability.
Good luck to everyone running this weekend!
