I hope that everyone is still out there running despite the recent adverse weather. Well done to the 40 or so brave souls who competed in the November Club Handicap and a special thanks to the volunteers and marshalls - it’s never easy standing out there in the cold and wet!
Good luck to everyone who’s competing in various races over the next few weeks - it’s always far more fun when it’s wet and muddy underfoot.
Just a few quick things to remind you about:
1. The club festive run round Dorking will be on Thursday 20 December. Details to follow, but don’t forget to make sure you’ve got your tinsel, Santa hat or even full Santa / elf / reindeer(!) to run round in. There will be a special Club Christmas meal in the clubhouse afterwards in which there will not only be the usual fantastic fare provided by Elizabeth and the team, but also the draw for the club places for the London and Brighton Marathons (don’t forget to get your entries in to Stuart), together with various awards being made. In other words, block off the evening in your diaries!
2. As mentioned, we still need more people to get involved in helping out our coaches - they give up many hours a week to prepare and then run the coaching sessions for club members, so even if you’re only able to help out once in a while please let Fran (firstname.lastname@example.org) know. Any help, whether it’s with the administration or with the coaching sessions would be very much appreciated - as we are a club that’s run by volunteers, it's really important for as many people to get involved as possible. Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to provide the support.
3. As you know, Stuart Prentice and I are won’t be standing for re-election and we’re looking for two people to take on the roles of Club Secretary and Chair. Please let me know (email@example.com) if you’re interested in either of these roles and rest assured that both Stuart and I will be on hand to support the new incumbents.
Look forward to seeing you at either the Christmas meal at the clubhouse on 20 December, or at the Christmas Party on 15 December.
Happy December running to all,
