DMVAC/ RPAC Phil Sears Handicap Races

Current Holders of the League Trophies:

Corrie Haxton and Niki Dargue

The 20/21 series of 6 races will commence on the last Thursday in September.

The format will be slightly different to ensure safety, See Newsletter and Facebook

The Event : The first handicap of the year is  held in September and then October, November, January February and March, 6 races in all. Reigate Priory Athletics Club have joined the races to add a little bit more ‘needle’ to the competition!  It seems to have worked.

The special festive ‘Non-Handicap’ handicap event where we do a fancy dress run round the town and Christmas Supper is on Thursday just before Christmas  at Pixham Lane.

Suppers : There is a supper served in the clubhouse at Pixham after each handicap race.  Entrants and helpers to the race can respond to an email from Elizabeth at the beginning of the handicap week, chose their menu and, for a minimal charge, join everyone for a delicious meal. Not in 20/21.

Results : Results are issued through the club email system.  Each race can stand by itself as a race with a result showing how each entrant did beating their handicap.  As well as individual race results, points are awarded separately to male and female entrants and these are carried over to the next handicap and added together to give a cumulative total per person.  At the end of the season the best 5 results for each entrant are taken from the 6 handicap races and a male and female runner will be announced as the winners of the handicap season with prizes awarded!! Apologies for wonky photos below.
