The Dorking Ten Mile Road Race and Cockerel 10k

DMVAC is delighted to present The Dorking Tens - two road races for your enjoyment!

After the successful inauguration of the 10k race in 2018, we will be again holding both the now Classic Ten Miler and our 10k Cockeral, on Sunday 2nd June 2019.

The 35th Dorking 10 Mile Road Race will start at 09:00a.m. and will be a round of the Surrey County 10 Mile Championship. The Cockerel 10K will start at 09:40a.m. and uses many of the same scenic Surrey lanes as the Dorking 10 Mile event. Both races are held under UKA rules. The Dorking Tens will be a true family friendly event, with races for both committed athletes and recreational runners alike, refreshments, entertainment and retail stalls at our Dorking Rugby Club event hub. As always with DMVAC events, we welcome and actively encourage wheelchair and disabled runners to participate.

All entries this year are online, except for entries on the day, potentially limited by entry level.

The Details - Sunday 2nd June 2019 - Races Start at 0900hrs  (10mile) and 0940 hrs (10K)

The Dorking 10 mile road race is one of the premier road races in the south of England, attracting up to 800 entrants annually, many of whom have run the race previously. The race consists of a small single circuit within a larger outer loop through the rolling Surrey countryside and caters for runners of all abilities. There are numerous prizes (details below) for individuals and teams. Starting in 2018, there will also be a 10K race which starts 40 minutes after the 10 mile race and which follows the outer loop only.

The Race HQ is based in the Dorking Rugby Football Clubhouse. Car parking and the finish is on the Big Field, Kiln Lane, Brockham, RH3 7JR. The races start on Brockham Green which is a 5 minute walk from Race HQ.

In 2017 a cut-off was introduced at the junction of Snowerhill and Wellhouse Road for the 10 Mile race. This is the point (3 &1/3 miles) where runners turn left to complete the first loop. Anyone entered in the 10 Mile race reaching this point after 40 minutes from the race start will be directed straight ahead towards Betchworth bridge.

Please note that the use of Ipods/MP3 players/Headphones during the race is banned for safety reasons. Anyone breaking this rule will be disqualified.
